An addressable fire alarm, a 64-camera IP CCTV system and building-wide door access for a student residential development on University Street, Belfast.

The brief
105–107 University Street is a large student residential development in Belfast’s university quarter, where fire safety, security and access control all have to work across a building in constant use by residents and staff.
The brief covered the whole property — life-safety detection throughout, comprehensive camera cover, controlled entry at every door and alarms on staff-only doors — all supported by a single ongoing service arrangement.

What we delivered
GDC designed and installed an addressable fire alarm system throughout the development, together with a 64-camera IP CCTV system combining 180-degree, fisheye and static cameras so each area is covered by the right camera for the job.
An intercom and door access system covers every door on site, with door alarms fitted to staff areas. All systems were commissioned, certified and documented, and GDC maintain the fire, CCTV and access systems under an ongoing service contract.
